Story
Forty-year-old Turk Jahit Tomruk from Mersin , who lives in modern Germany , is trying to get rid of everything Turkish in his life. After the death of his beloved wife, he becomes addicted to alcohol and drugs and lives collecting bottles. One night he crashed into a wall in his car and miraculously survived.
Twenty-year-old Sibel Güner from Hamburg , hungry for freedom, is afraid to run away and upset her traditionally-minded Turkish parents after her brother, having forced her to hold hands with a young boyfriend, broke her nose. She tries to commit suicide, but ends up in the hospital. There, a girl meets Jahit, whom he asks to marry her, hoping to escape from home. She agrees with Jahit that their relationship will not be so much family as friendly, since the girl does not intend to limit her life to one man.
Initially, they live under one roof, but each with their own life. However, gradually the couple become closer and fall in love with each other.
One of the lovers harasses Sibel and insults her before Jahit, and Jahit inadvertently kills him. He is sent to prison, and Sibel leaves for Turkey , because he is afraid that relatives can kill her.
In Istanbul, Sibel's sister finds her a job in a hotel. But over time, Sibel realizes that she is in another cell and is trying to break out with drugs and gets into trouble. She is beaten and left to bleed in one of the side streets of the city. She is found by a passing taxi driver.
After his release, Jahit also goes to his homeland to find his wife. He meets Sibel's sister, but she refuses to say where she lives, because she has her own life, new friend and five-year-old daughter. However, she tells Sibel that Jahit has arrived.
They meet and Jahit offers Sibel to go with him to Mersin, to the city where he was born. They agree to meet the next day - he, she, and her daughter. Jahit is waiting for them at the station, but Sibel does not come, and he leaves alone.
