“Run away, catch up, fall in love” (working title - “The Best Girl of the Caucasus” ) - the film by Mikhail Shevchuk, filmed in 2013 . In the original project, it was the second remake of Leonid Gaidai ’s film “The Caucasian Captive, or Shurik’s New Adventures, ” but later became an independent film, retaining only a few motives from the original. The premiere of the tape took place in 2016 [1] [2] .

Content
Story
Businessman Boris escapes from his Austrian bride to the North Caucasus, where, by chance, becomes a music teacher for the local girl Nina. Nina does not want to marry the groom found by her father, and is trying with all her might to delay the wedding. Boris helps her in this: he decides to steal Nina according to local custom, and now they are forced to hide not only from her fiancé, but also from Boris’s suddenly arrived bride.

Production
The film was developed simultaneously with another remake of the original painting by Gaidai, who followed his plot almost frame-by-frame and was negatively received by critics and viewers. This film was originally planned as a more independent [3] . Unlike both of these films, “Run Away, Catch Up, Fall in Love” was actually filmed in the Caucasus [4] . Vladimir Etush, who starred in the prototype film, also starred in this film, and his character retained the name of the original.
Location
The film was shot in Sochi and Karachay-Cherkessia.
At the time of the opening of the Wedding Palace, the film shows a monument to V.I. Lenin in the central square of the Zelenchukskaya village [5] . Also, during the ascent of Boris into the mountains, an astrophysical observatory is visible in the background.
