Jacob Axel Yosefson ( Swede. Jacob Axel Josephson ; March 27, 1818 , Stockholm - March 29, 1880 , Uppsala ) was a Swedish composer and conductor.

He studied in Uppsala, then improved in Dresden under Johann Gottlob Schneider and in Leipzig under Moritz Hauptmann and Niels Gade . Returning to Sweden, in 1848 , he became the music director of the Uppsala University and, thus, the university orchestra . From 1853 , he also directed the Servants of Orpheus Choir, and in 1867 simultaneously headed the permanently created Uppsala Cathedral Chorus.
As a composer, he is known mainly for collections of folk songs, romances, ballads published in Stockholm , Copenhagen , Leipzig , as well as psalms and other works for choir.
