Biography

In his youth he was engaged in Greco-Roman wrestling, was the champion of Estonia in the weight of the “feather”, at the age of 18 he took fourth place in the World Cup . As a football player, he played for the Estonian Sport and Spartak teams. In 1927 he played for Ferencvaros (Budapest) .

Having completed his football career early, Volrat worked as the main massage therapist in the Hungarian national team at the Olympic Games in Amsterdam. He worked in the coaching staff of the strong European clubs Ferencvaros , Barcelona and London's Arsenal . Upon returning to Estonia, he was engaged in the hotel business for some time, but after the republic became part of the USSR, Volrat's property was nationalized.

In the 1940s, Albert Volrat successfully worked in the Moscow Spartak . With him in 1946–47. the team won the USSR Cup twice. One of the first specialists in Soviet football introduced intense physical activity. Volrat paid great attention to the culture of the pass and was engaged in the search for talented football players among young people. Footballers and football fans will remember the intelligent "European" manner of communication.

After leaving Spartak he worked in teams from the Estonian SSR .
