Biography

Hasan Feyziev was born on September 10, 1936 in the village of Tahirli of the Jalilabad region of the Azerbaijan Republic. In 1953, after graduating from a 7-year school, he arrived in Baku and entered the Baku Energy College. In 1957, having completed his studies at a technical school with honors without entrance examinations, he was enrolled in the Institute of Oil and Chemistry named after M. Azizbekova at the Faculty of Energy with a degree in Thermal Power Plants of Power Plants. In 1962, graduating with honors from the Institute of Oil and Chemistry. M. Azizbekova, remained to work at the same institute. From 1963 to 1970, G. Feiziev worked as an assistant, senior lecturer, and then assistant professor of the Department of Combined-cycle Turbines and Thermal Power Plants. In 1969, in Moscow, in VNIIVODGEO, G.K. Feiziev defended his PhD, and in 1980 at the MPEI doctoral dissertation. In 1982 he was awarded the title of professor. He is an Honored Teacher of the Republic of Azerbaijan, an academician of the International Academy of Eco-Energy. From 1978 to 2013, G.K. Feyziev was the head of the Department of Heat Supply and Heat Engineering of the Azerbaijan Architectural and Construction University. [one]

Key Scientific Achievements

The main area of scientific activity of G.K.Feyziev is the development and improvement of water treatment technology for heat and power enterprises. He worked on issues of improving the technology of desalination and desalination of sea water. To solve the problem of scale formation, he developed, theoretically substantiated and introduced original Mg-Na- and Na-cation-exchange softening technologies using evaporators to regenerate cation exchangers only in purge water running on softened seawater. These methods remove the restriction on sulfate barriers and allow the distillation process to be carried out at high temperature levels and multiples of evaporation. G. K, Feiziev developed and introduced into the production of technologies for continuous water softening by cationization with the disposal of effluents directly in the process of water purification. After a deep analysis of existing technologies for chemical desalination of fresh water and a thorough study of processes, Feiziev developed and introduced into production new methods and techniques for regenerating and treating both H-cationic and OH-anionic filters of the desalination plant. New technologies for the chemical desalination of water can reduce the specific consumption of acid and alkali of ion exchanger filters by a factor of 2–2.5 and increase the working exchange capacity of ion exchangers by a factor of 1.5–2 compared to existing technologies. The developed technologies use the countercurrent principle of ionization. Based on GK Feiziev’s inventions, five “Methodical Instructions ...” were adopted at the Tech Council of the USSR Ministry of Energy, which are normative documents; many TPP water treatment plants are designed and built on their basis. By the decision of the same Council, an industry laboratory was opened under the scientific supervision of G.K. Feiziev. The result of the scientist’s fruitful activity is the creation of a scientific school in this area. He is a co-author of more than 250 scientific papers, including 5 monographs, 44 inventions. Technologies developed by Feiziev for treating sea and salty waters with Mg-Na b Na-cationization were introduced at Oil Rocks, Sumgait TPP-1 and at Severnaya SDPP of AzGLAVENERGO, technologies of closed-circuit softening and low-flow chemical desalination were introduced at Ali-Bayramlinskaya TPP of AzGLAVENERGO , TPPs of the Gorky Automobile Plant, Minsk TPPs-3 and TPP-5, Volzhskaya TPP-2, Karmanovskaya TPP, Kazan TPP-1,2,3, Tyumen TPP-2, etc. [1]
