Egbelet-le-Lac ( fr. Aiguebelette-le-Lac ) - commune in France, department of Savoy , region Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes . It is part of the canton of Le Pont de Beauvoisin , Chambéry [1] . As of 2012, the population of the commune was 249 people. On the territory of the commune is one of the prehistoric pile settlements , included in the UNESCO World Heritage [2] .

Egbelet-le-Lac is located on the southeastern shore of Lake Egbelet at the foot of the mountain chain of Epin.

The commune was first mentioned in 1228 as Monte Aquebellete . In the 15th century, Egbelet distinguished between the dioceses of Grenoble and Bele [3] .

The World Championships in rowing was held in Egbelet-le-Lac in 1997 .

According to the 2012 census, the population of Egbelet-le-Lac was 249 people (51.0% of men and 49.0% of women). The population of the commune by age range was as follows: 14.9% - residents under 14 years old, 12.4% - between 15 and 29 years old, 20.5% - from 30 to 44 years old, 28.9% - from 45 to 59 years and 23.3% - at the age of 60 years and older. Among residents older than 15, 45.3% were married, 36.3% were not married, 13.2% were divorced, 5.2% were widowed [4] .

Among the population over 15 years old (194 people), 4.1% of the population had no education, 3.6% - had only primary education, 5.2% - only graduated from college , 25.3% - received a certificate of high school graduation, 21, 6% - completed a full secondary education or specialized secondary education, 15.5% - completed a shortened higher education and 24.7% - completed a full higher education [4] .

In 2012, out of 170 people of working age (from 15 to 64 years), 133 were economically active, 37 were inactive (activity indicator 78.2%, in 2007 - 78.4%). Of the 133 active able-bodied residents, 118 people worked (69 men and 49 women), 15 were unemployed. Among 37 able-bodied inactive citizens, 11 were pupils or students, 16 - pensioners, and 10 more - were inactive for other reasons [4] . In 2013, the average income per month was 2428 €, per year - 29 136 € [5] .
