Walter Herrmann Heinrich ( Spanish Walter Herrmann Heinrich ; born June 26, 1979) is an Argentinean professional basketball player who plays for Obras Sanitarias . Biography
Club career
Walter Herrmann was born in Venado Tuerto , province of Santa Fe , in the family of Hector Herrmann and Maria Christina Heinrich. He started playing basketball at the local Olympia club, which made his debut in the National Basketball League on March 30, 1997 [1] . In 1999 and 2000, Herrmann won the Argentinean slam dunk contest. In 2000, he moved to Atenas from Cordoba , one of Argentina's strongest clubs. There he grew up to a national level star, in 2002 became the champion of Argentina, in 2001 he was recognized as the most valuable player in the league, in 2002 - the most valuable player in the final series, twice, in 2000 and 2002 he took part in the match between the stars of the Argentine league.
In 2002, Herrmann moved to Spain, signed a contract with the Fuenlabrada club. Already in the first season he was recognized as the most valuable player in the Spanish League and became the leader in points scored for the game (22.2). In 2003, Walter moved to another Spanish team, Malaga . He spent three years there, in 2005 became the owner of the Spanish Cup , in 2006 he won the national championship with the team.
In the summer of 2006, Herrmann entered into a one-year contract with the NBA club Charlotte Bobcats . On December 14, 2007, he was exchanged with Primoz Brezets at the Detroit Pistons for Nazra Mohammed . Herrmann performed at Detroit until the end of the 2008/2009 season.
In 2009, Herrmann returned to Spain and signed a four-year contract with the Kakha Lab club. In the summer of 2010, after an unsuccessful injury season, Herrmann agreed with Kakha to terminate the contract [2] . In 2010, he tried to return to the NBA, but received no offers. In 2013, Herrmann returned to Atenas, spent the season in the Argentine league, and was again recognized as its most valuable player. In 2014, he moved to the Brazilian club Flamengo , where he played for a year and became the owner of the Intercontinental Cup . In 2015, Walter returned to Argentina and became a player in the San Lorenzo club from Buenos Aires .

Herrmann began playing for the Argentinean national team in 1999, and the 1999 Pan American Games became his first international tournament. In 2001, Herrmann won the South American Championship with the Argentine national team and became the silver medalist of the Goodwill Games . In July 2004, the Argentinean men's national team won the South American Championship again, and in August, unexpectedly became the Olympic champion , defeating the US national team in the semifinal of the Olympic tournament.
