History
Founded in 1712, occupied the eastern half of the Admiralty Island (on the right bank of the Moika River , near its mouth). At first it was called the Scampavey Courtyard, in 1713-1721 - the Galley Courtyard, later - the Galley Shipyard. The construction of small and medium-sized vessels ( galleys , half-galleys , scampaways ) was transferred here from the Admiralty Shipyard .
In 1720, the Admiralty Canal was dug between the Admiralty and the Galerny Dvor. Masters from the Admiralty Shipyard, as well as convicts, worked at the Galerny Dvor. More than 300 ships were built here.
In the 1740s, the construction of galleys was transferred to the Galley shipyard on Vasilyevsky Island (near the Galernaya Harbor ).
In 1800, the New Admiralty was built on the site of the Galley Court.
