History
The early years (Fuze and Marat, 2001-2002)
Initially, Fuze and beatmaker Marat were part of the Nevsky Bit group. Artyom Brovkov was a DJ, Marat was responsible for production, and Tony Boy and Sad, who also played keyboards, acted as MCs. In 2000, Nevsky Bit broke up, and Fuse and Marat decided to continue their joint work and began to search for a vocalist for a new project. But not finding the right MC, Fuse decided to try himself in this role. In 2001, he wrote his first song, Side by Side. Since that time, there has been an official countdown of the existence of the Krec group [3] .
The name of the project was taken from the abbreviation K itchen Rec ords ("Kitchen Record") - the association of St. Petersburg rap musicians, which was founded by Fuse and Marat. The first tracks they recorded literally in the home kitchen in an apartment on Stachek Avenue in St. Petersburg [4] . This location will be mentioned in the song "Tenderness": " As before, trams fled to Avtovo. / Come on, mate, we'll see you tomorrow. / From Veterans to Strikes by yards. / There, where the smoke of "Winston" and the letters from the packs . "
In 2002, Rap Recordz released their debut album, Invasion, consisting of 17 tracks. The recordings were attended by musicians Sad and Tony ("Nevsky Bit"), Seth and MaryJane (Krasnodar), Liana, Gary-Man, DaBro (Canada) and Method Mr. Al.
The Classic Trio (Fuze, Assai and Marat, 2003-2009)
In 2003, Assai , a former member of UmBriaco, joined the group. In the same year, with the participation of Smokey Mo , the second album “ No Magic ” was released. In the same composition, work is underway on Smokey Mo's album “ Kara-Te ”. These two albums are considered turning points in Russian rap, and this creative union is beginning to be called the “New Petersburg Wave”. In 2009, Colta.ru published both of these albums on the list of ten major Russian rap records [5] . However, after some time, Krec's collaboration with Smokey Mo and UmBriaco ceases.
Krec's next album, Down the River , comes out in 2006. The song "Tenderness" from this album gets into the soundtrack for the film " Peter FM " [6] .
After the arrival of popularity, members under the brand Krec release solo works. At first it was Assai's “ Other Shores ”, then in 2007 Fusion released the album “ Meloman ”, and a year later another Assai album “ Fatalist ” was released.
The group’s joint performances are becoming smaller, the participants devote more time to solo work and performances. In the summer of 2009, Assai officially announces his departure from the Krec group [7] .
The Duet Again (Fuze and Marat, 2010-2012)
Krec, remaining in the original composition - MC Fuze and beatmaker Marat - begin work on the next album. Released in 2010, the album " Shards " demonstrated the development and desire for novelty [8] . On September 13, 2012, the album “ Silently Easier ” is released, more gloomy than “Shards”, but retaining the recognizable Krec style. [9] .
At the end of November 2012, Fuse learned from Twitter that the permanent beatmaker of the Marat group, which created its signature sound, was leaving the project [10] .
Solo format (Fuze, since 2013)
Left in the group alone, Artyom Brovkov invites guitarist Denis Kharlashin and backing vocalist Lyubov Vladimirova as session musicians, with whom he gives concerts and records new songs. In 2014, the album Air of Freedom was released. Fusion moves away from hip hop songs. The music on the album resembles either “songs with a guitar” or blues. There is some return to the side of “good sadness”, which was heard on the band’s early albums, but without their inherent experiments with rhyme [11] .
On April 14, 2016, Krec released an album called “ FRVTR 812 ”. All 15 songs are connected by a common theme dedicated to a character named Anton, previously mentioned in the albums “ No Magic ” by Krec and “ Kara-Te ” by Smokey Mo , as well as in the songs of the ex-member of Assai . In the reviews it was noted [12] that in “FRVTR 812” the classic sound of Krec of the early 2000s was returned. According to Fuse [13] , he wrote the album throughout the year, choosing winter and autumn days for this activity, in order to immerse himself in the corresponding atmosphere as much as possible. The rapper was looking for inspiration in the streets of St. Petersburg.
The publication Rap.ru included the work in the list of 20 best albums of the year, determining him 16th place.
| Fusion walks along the familiar channel - jazz samples, complex, intricate verses, tangles of rhyme and strings, choruses often sung. “Anton was sick, February, the roads were covered with snow” - such lines seem to be thrown a dozen and a half years ago, in the days of Kitchen Records. However, time goes by, Fuse is left alone - and continues to bend his line. |

On March 9, 2017, the album Obelisk 16 was released, the album included 16 tracks, most of which were presented as singles in 2016, plus several unreleased compositions. All material has gained a second wind thanks to a new mix.
In 2018, Fuze released two studio albums at once: ATOM with a tube sound was released in February, and in July the more rigid and experimental album HEAD. Work on them went in parallel [15] . One of the beat makers on HEAD was Dister, who had previously written all the music for the FRVTR 812 album. Music publications noted [16] that Fuze in this album continued to demonstrate "outstanding lyrical abilities and technique, focusing on a more modern sound."
On June 21, 2019, Krec released an album called Comics. The album is based on stories from the daily life of the author, who learned to turn life into a walk, and any opportunity to walk - into a whole adventure. As a backing vocalist, she sang Stereolyuba on the album. The music was produced by beatmakers Dister, Roos, Matvey Ryabov and Andrei Kit . [17]
