Biography

Yusupov Garun Valeevich was born on June 22, 1914 in the city of Kazan, Kazan province of the Russian Empire .

In 1941 he graduated from the geographical faculty of Kazan University . He took part in the Great Patriotic War .

Since 1946, he headed the ethnographic museum of Kazan University. Since 1952, he worked at the Institute of History, Literature and Language of the Bashkir Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences [1] .

Since 1958, he was an employee of the Institute of Language, Literature and History of the Kazan Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences .

Scientific activity

Yusupov collected and compiled a set of epigraphic monuments of the Volga and Cis-Urals of the 13th-14th centuries. On the territory of the Republic of Bashkortostan, he discovered and explored Voskresenskoye, Imendyashevskoye, Kasyanovskoye and Tabyn settlements, Kurmantau village and ancient settlement [1] .
