History
1928 - 1991
In 1928, a workshop was established in Kharkov for the production of laboratory and medical glassware from imported glass, which began the production of test tubes , pipettes , butyrometers , thermometers and other glassware.
In 1930, the workshop was transferred from Kharkov to Poltava, and on July 5, 1931, the Poltava Thermometer Factory (the second company in the USSR capable of producing thermometers) was commissioned, the total number of employees of which was 120 people [1] . In the following years, the range of products increased - the factory mastered the production of hourglasses .
In 1936, the factory was reconstructed: production facilities were expanded, a new ventilation system was installed.
Before the start of World War II, the factory employed over 300 people.
During the German occupation, the factory was completely destroyed, but already in the autumn of 1943, restoration work began at the enterprise.
In 1947, the factory was renamed a glass factory, since the production of mercury thermometers was discontinued and the factory switched to the production of ampoules , glass medical glassware, laboratory equipment and measuring instruments.
In 1966-1978, the plant underwent a technical reconstruction of the plant.
In 1986, the Poltavmedsteklo production association was created, the head enterprise of which was the Poltava Medical Glass Plant. In the same year, the plant mastered the production of a new type of portable inhaler [2] .
After the commissioning of plastic molding equipment, in the late 1980s the Poltava Medical Glass Factory was the first in the USSR to start the production of medical spray dispensers for liquids [3] .
After 1991
In May 1995, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine included the plant in the list of enterprises subject to privatization during 1995 [4] .
In 1996, the plant was transformed into an open joint stock company [5] .
In August 1997, the plant was included in the list of enterprises of strategic importance for the economy and security of Ukraine [6] .
As of the beginning of 2014, the plant was included in the list of leading industrial enterprises of Poltava [7] .
