History
The museum was created in 1979 as a branch of the Stara Zagorsk History Museum. Built around two Neolithic houses dating from the eighth millennium BC. [2]
The first artifacts were found at this site in 1826. In thorough archaeological research in 1969, the remains of a burnt house were found. This is the best-preserved dwelling in Europe of that period with a kitchen, fireplace, hand-held grain mills and ceramic vessels. Archaeological studies have shown that the dwelling was two-tiered with approximate dimensions: length - 10 m, width - 5.60 m, height - more than 7 meters. During the excavation, 1826 exhibits were found .
In total, the museum exhibits 333 exhibits from all over the Stara Zagorsk region. In its basement is the exposition "Primitive Art in Stara Zagora."
