Angel Raigond Wagenstein ( Bulgarian. Angel Raymond Wagenshain ; genus. October 17, 1922 , Plovdiv , Bulgaria ) - Bulgarian film director, screenwriter, writer and public figure. The brother of the cameraman Emil Wagenstein .

Biography

Born into a Sephardic family, his first language was Ladino [1] [2] . Participated in the partisan movement during the Second World War, was sentenced to death [3] . In 1950 he graduated from VGIK (workshop of Leo Arnshtam ). He wrote scripts for feature films, documentaries and animated films. Member of the BKP since 1941.

In 1990 he was elected deputy of the 7th Bulgarian Grand National Assembly from the BSP .

He has two children: book publisher Raymond Wagenstein and cameraman Plamen Wagenstein (genus. 1945).
