Sapetka (type of beehive)

The word "little hat" has other meanings; see napkin .
Wicker hive

Sapetka is a non-separable beehive from twigs or straw, often coated with clay. Currently, it is almost not used in beekeeping, as it was replaced by collapsible beehives of the frame system.

Wicker hives appeared later than deck hives and differed from the latter in lower weight. However, the lighter construction was less resistant to rodents and adverse weather conditions. As in the deck, getting honey from a hat was accompanied by the destruction of a bee family.
