History

Founded in Tyumen in 1993, the company worked for a long time as a wholesale supplier of materials for construction, reconstruction and repair, operating on construction bases. In 2006, the development of the retail network of the company began, in 2008 specialized stores “Heat transfer” and “Polovik” were allocated from the “Building yard”. The former included engineering communications , heating equipment, insulation materials, plumbing and tools; the second - floor coverings, materials for flooring, walls and ceilings [5] [6] .

At the same time, expansion began in neighboring regions: in 2008, retail facilities were opened in the Sverdlovsk Region , in 2009 - in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug , in 2011 - in the Perm Territory [5] . In 2014, the first store opened in the Moscow region , in 2015 in Moscow . In 2016, the opening of a warehouse took place in the Moscow region. In 2016-2018 The retailer decided to suspend the activities of retail stores in the Moscow region and focus on the development of e-commerce. The online store "Building yard" began work in 2010, the company eventually refused to develop electronic platforms of specialized stores. In 2015, the share of the online store in revenue amounted to 2% [3] , in 2016 the indicator remained the same, in 2017 the share of revenue increased 2 times and amounted to 4%, and in 2018 increased to 5%.

Business Model

The network is represented by corporate customer-oriented drive-in building bases (in the terminology of the company "picking center") and retail stores. Construction bases are organized according to a single principle, they have an area of ​​0.5 to 5.2 hectares with warehouses of 1 to 15 thousand m², transport interchanges and railway dead ends [5] . According to data as of 01.01.2019, the company has 61 retail outlets, of which 46 are retail stores, Stroitelny Dvor, 1 Polovik store, 1 Heat transfer store, 12 construction bases, ranging from 0.5 to 5.2 ha with warehouses from 1 to 15 thousand m² located in 14 cities of the Russian Federation. Since 2017, the company's call-center has been working around the clock. [3] [2] .

The group of companies produces a part of construction materials under its own trademarks , with trademarks occupying from 0.20% to 65% in their product categories at the end of 2018. In 2015, the share of these goods in the assortment of the network amounted to 6.1%, revenue from their sale - 4.8% of the total [3] , in 2016 the share of STM in the assortment - 2%, revenue - 2.18%, in In 2017, the share of STM doubled compared to 2016 and amounted to 4%, revenue - 3.67%, in 2018 the share of STM continued to gain momentum and reached the level of 5%, revenue - 5.42% from the aggregate.

Financial Performance

In 2015, the company's consolidated revenue amounted to 12.5 billion rubles, 52% of the turnover was provided by wholesale sales, 36% - by retail. The decrease in revenue compared to 2014 amounted to 0.1 billion rubles, but earlier, during 2004-2014, the company showed a steady increase in turnover [3] . This trend has resumed since 2016: revenue amounted to 13.9 billion rubles, of which 58% - wholesale, 39% - retail, in 2017 the company's consolidated revenue increased by 24.47% compared to last year and amounted to a symbolic 17 billion rubles, including the results of wholesale sales - 61% and retail - 39%, according to the results of 2018, revenue reached 20.5 million rubles, of which 65% - wholesale, 30% - retail. According to the results of 2015, net profit was 270.7 million rubles [1] , 2016 - 593 million, 2017 - 373 million rubles, 2018 - 517 million rubles.

According to the results of 2014, Rosa Group of Companies took the 22nd place in terms of tax deductions among companies in the Tyumen region [7] .

Owners and management

Each of the chain stores included in the group of companies “Building yard” is represented by a separate legal entity. The main or blocking shareholder is LLC Rosa, the operational management is carried out by LLC Stroitelny Dvor. Rosa LLC is 20% owned by private individuals and 80% by Severstroyservis LLC [3] .

Over the years, the company has been one of the largest participants in the market of building and finishing materials, home and gardening products: in 2012, the network ranked sixth in terms of revenue, in seventh in 2013, and ninth in 2015 [8] [9] [10] [3] . Forecast until 2018 ”, published by the INFOline news agency, the company ranks first in terms of the number of stores and 13th in terms of total retail, warehouse and adjacent space among retail and wholesale-retail DIY chains in the country [3] .

Member of the rating of the largest companies in the Urals and Western Siberia, “Expert-Ural-400” (147th place in 2015, including 6th place among wholesale companies according to the results of 2014) [11] [1] .
