Vidin (port)

Vidin port ( Bulgarian. Vidin refuge ) is a Bulgarian river port located in the city of Vidin on the banks of the Danube River .

The territory and the water area of ​​the port are state property: this area includes the section, starting from the 789 km mark and ending with the 791.3 km mark on the Danube River. The port was registered in 1994 as a commercial company under the name “Vidin Refuge” Ltd., the full package of shares of which belonged to the state. The port carries out its activities in accordance with the laws of Bulgaria. It consists of two parts - the so-called central port or Port Center ( Bulgarian. Shelter Center ) and the southern port or port South ( Bulgarian. Shelter South ).

This is the first major port on the Bulgarian section of the Danube, connecting the Ro-Ro Vidin - Pasau Ro-La and Vidin - Kalafat routes [1] .

Central Port

The central port is located in the central city part within the limits of 789 km - 791.3 km on the Danube River, its area is 17 thousand m² (or 17 decares ). Berth wall with a length of 1440 m, inclined type. Four pontoons were mounted in front of the dock for receiving and loading goods onto Bulgarian and foreign vessels with entry and exit controls. The existing building of the river station is well connected in terms of logistics with three transport facilities intended for the carriage of passengers: the main railway station, bus station and river station. It reduces the travel routes for passengers (arriving and departing) without the use of additional vehicles.

South Port

The southern port is located in the southern industrial zone within the marks of 785 km - 785.2 km on the Danube River, its area is 48 thousand m² (or 48 decares ). Designed for the reception and storage of bulk and ordinary cargoes that do not require special processing conditions. Mooring wall 200 m long, inclined type. Loading and unloading is carried out using electric gantry cranes equipped with all the necessary devices to capture the object. It works in direct and indirect modes. The main cargo is coal.
