Biography

Born in 1948 in the city of Chita in the family of a front-line officer. From school years he was fond of mathematical disciplines, was engaged in additional courses of discrete and functional analysis . For some time he trained in the boxing section [1] .

After graduating from the Novosibirsk secondary (physical and mathematical) school No. 165 in 1965 he entered the radiophysical faculty of Tomsk State University . During training, he repeatedly spoke at all-Union student conferences and symposia (in Gorky , Leningrad , etc.) [1] .

In 1970, he graduated with honors from the university with a degree in radio physics and electronics; The thesis entitled “Middle Fields in Randomly Heterogeneous Media” was awarded the medal “For the best student scientific work” at the All-Russian Student Work Competition. From October 1, 1970, he entered the graduate school of the Department of Radiophysics of the Radiophysical Faculty of Tomsk State University, and in 1977 he defended his dissertation for the degree of candidate of physical and mathematical sciences under the name "Geometrical Optical Approach in Boundary-Problem Problems of Wave Scattering by Uneven Surfaces." In the period from 1973 to 1990, he went through all the stages of his scientific career, starting with a junior researcher at the Siberian Physical-Technical Institute, ending with the post of assistant professor [1] .

In 1992, he defended his doctoral dissertation "Doppler interferometry and an exploded technique with an extra-large base when transillumination of near-solar plasma" [1] . In 1993, he received the title of professor and in 1994, he took the post of head of the department of radiophysics of the radiophysics faculty of TSU [1] .

Research

For more than 10 years, Professor Yakubov has been organizing studies of near-Earth and outer space using automatic space stations of the Venus series. For example, under his leadership, a unique experiment was carried out to study the properties of interplanetary and near-solar plasma in the field of solar wind formation, based on data from a super-wide-band narrow-band radio interferometry [1] . Using two centers of long-range space communication with a spatial separation of more than seven thousand kilometers (in Ussuriysk and Yevpatoriya ), as well as eight spacecraft “ Venus ”, a large amount of high-precision information was obtained on the mechanisms of solar-terrestrial communications and the properties of the solar wind in the field of its acceleration [ 1] . In addition, based on the experience of studying the Earth using artificial satellites, he developed a number of advanced methods for remote sensing of inhomogeneous media and objects. Mathematical algorithms created on the basis of regularization schemes made it possible to significantly expand the range of inverse problems to be solved, while ensuring maximization of the amount of information extracted from noisy experimental data [1] . In 2001, this idea was presented in the form of an automated radio wave tomograph, which was awarded the gold medal of the Russian Academy of Sciences [1] . Under the leadership of Yakubov, 12 candidate and 3 doctoral dissertations were defended. Repeatedly worked by invitation in Germany (Magdeburg, Saarbrücken) and Japan (Sendai).
