The square got its name in honor of the Hungarian composer Ferenc Liszt , whose concerts were held in Bratislava, in the Palace of Leopold de Pauli [1] . Not far from the present square in 1899 was Liszt Ferenc Street ( Slovak. Námestie Franza Liszta ), now this street is named after composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky [1] . The name change was approved by the city municipality in June 2012 [1] . Deputies of the Old City in November 2011 approved the change. The introduction of the amendment was planned for March 2012 [2] , but the name was officially changed on August 1, 2012 [3] . By September 3, 2012, the Bratislava Transport Company also renamed the public transport stop [4] .
