Biography

In 1962, he graduated from the SCOLIFK in Moscow (1962). In the circus since 1952 - a balancer on poles (top) in a group led by Rafael Manukyan, who invited him to work in the circus. Then he moved to the room under the leadership of Yuri Polovnev, where he worked for 10 years. At the I International Circus Artists Competition in Warsaw in 1956, members of the Polovnev troupe were awarded gold medals and the titles of laureates. He performed at the V World Youth and Student Festival in Warsaw (1955), participated in tours abroad (Poland, East Germany, Greece, Yugoslavia, Belgium, Luxembourg, Brazil, Uruguay, Germany, Czechoslovakia and Hungary). He was awarded gold medals and the title of laureate at the VI World Festival of Youth and Students in Moscow (1957), the number of Polovnev's group was considered one of the best numbers of balancers with peppers.

Since 1971, he acted as a clown-mime, parody interludes dominated in the repertoire.

For many years he worked together with his brother Meruzhan Armenakovich (1936-1980). The circus dynasty was continued by his two daughters - horsemen and balancers Anaida and Adeline.

Awards and titles

Honored Artist of the Armenian SSR (1967), Honored Artist of Russia (1994).
