History

The village of Gorodishche , consisting of 130 peasant households , is mentioned on the map of the St. Petersburg province of F. F. Schubert in 1834, there was a church and 3 windmills in the village [2] .

CITY - the village belongs to the Treasury Department, the number of residents by audit: 227 m. P., 258 w. P.
The onm church is stone in the name of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker [3] (1838)

The village of Gorodishche of 130 yards is indicated on a special map of the western part of Russia by F. F. Schubert in 1844 [4] .

THE CITY - the village of the State Property Office, along a country road, the number of households is 122, the number of souls is 256 pm. [5] (1856)


CITY - the village breech at the Volkhov River, the number of households - 106, the number of inhabitants: 286 m. P., 345 w. P.; Orthodox Church. Chapel two, rural school, two torzhka [6] . (1862)

The collection of the Central Statistical Committee described it as follows:

THE CITY - a former state village near the Volkhov River, 125 yards, 750 inhabitants; Parish government, Orthodox church, chapel, school, 2 shops, fair from 9 to 12 May. (1885) [7]

In the XIX century, the village was administratively related to the 2nd camp of Novoladozhsky district of St. Petersburg province, at the beginning of the XX century - to Gorodishchensky volost of the 5th district of the 1st camp.

According to the “Memorial Book of the St. Petersburg Province” for 1905, the Settlement village formed the Gorodishchensky rural society [8] .

According to the map of the Petrograd and Novgorod provinces of 1915, there were two churches and 12 windmills in the village of Gorodishche [9] .

From 1917 to 1923, the village was part of the Gorodishchensky village council of the Gorodishche volost of Novoladozhsky district.

Since 1923, as part of the Glazhevsky volost of the Volkhov district .

Since 1927, in the Andreevsky district .

In 1928, the population of the village of Gorodishche was 110 people.

Since 1931, as part of the Kirishsky district [10] .

According to 1933, the village of Gorodishche was the administrative center of the Gorodishchensky village council of the Kirishi district, which included 3 settlements: the village of Gorodishche , the villages of Podtse, and Rysino, with a total population of 1,870 people [11] .

According to the 1936 data, the Gorodishchensky Village Council included 3 settlements, 302 farms and 3 collective farms [12] .

Since 1954, as part of the Pchevsky Village Council.

Since 1963, as part of the Volkhov district.

Since 1965, again part of the Kirishi district. In 1965, the population of the village of Gorodishche was 544 people [10] .

According to the data of 1966, 1973 and 1990, the Settlement village was also a part of the Pchevsky village council [13] [14] [15] .

In 1997, 167 people lived in the village of Gorodishche of the Pchevskoy volost, in 2002 - 188 (Russians - 95%) [16] [17] .

In 2007, 175 people lived in the village of Gorodishche Pchevskogo SP , in 2010 - 169 [18] [19] .

Geography

The village is located in the northwestern part of the district on the 41K-022 road ( Kirishi - Gorodishche - Volkhov ).

The distance to the administrative center of the settlement is 8 km [18] .

The distance to the nearest railway station Glazhevo is 3 km [13] .

The village is located on the right bank of the Volkhov River .
