Vasily Vasilyevich Mosin (April 22, 1917 - June 18, 1998) - Soviet and Russian veterinarian , abdominal surgeon, public figure, professor, doctor of veterinary sciences, honored worker of science of the TASSR , RSFSR , participant of the Great Patriotic War .

Biography

Born on April 22, 1917 in the village of Vyaltsevo (Ulyanovsk District, Kaluga Region) [1] . Father - Vasily Fedorovich Mosin, a peasant, was engaged in agriculture, since 1941 he was evacuated to the Tula region , in 1943 he moved to his daughter in Moscow , and in 1947 to Vasily Vasilyevich in Kazan . Mother died in 1917. Had 3 brothers and a sister:

  • Pavel V. Mosin - worked as a teacher, died in the Second World War at Stalingrad .
  • Alexander V. Mosin - worked as an agronomist, died in 1935.
  • Ivan Vasilievich Mosin - worker, died in the Second World War near Kiev .
  • Tatyana Vasilievna Mosina (Luchkina).

Education

He graduated from the Hillmischenskoy school of collective farm youth (1934), Bitsevsky agricultural college (1938).

In 1939 he entered the Kazan Veterinary Institute. N. E. Bauman and in the same year he was called up to war with the Finns, served as a skier-shooter of the 113th volunteer ski battalion on the Karelian Isthmus [1] . In 1940, after the end of the Finnish campaign, he returned to the institute.

July 20, 1941 mobilized in the Red Army. He served as deputy company commander and commander of an engineering platoon of the 6th Guards Motorcycle Engineering Battalion of the 5th Guards Motorcycle Engineering Brigade of the 1st Plant of the Baltic Front . In the battles with the Nazi invaders for the city of Pilau on April 16, 1945, he was seriously wounded. August 25, 1945 transferred to the reserve.

In October 1945, he was discharged from the hospital as a disabled person of group II and was again enrolled in Kazan Veterinary Institute for the 4th year. In 1947 he graduated from the institute, July 10, 1947 received a diploma of veterinary with honors.

Professional career

After graduation he was elected to the post of assistant in the department of operative surgery.

On July 2, 1951 he defended his thesis on the topic “ Novocainic blockade of celiac nerves as a method of protective influence on the nervous system in case of inflammation of the peritoneum and abdominal organs ” based on the ideas of A. V. Vishnevsky about the feasibility of local anesthesia during abdominal operations.

May 24, 1952 approved in the academic title of associate professor of operative surgery at KVI.

On January 17, 1958, he defended his doctoral thesis [2] on the topic “Results of clinical and experimental studies on the use of supra pleural novocaine blockade of celiac nerves and border sympathetic trunks during abdominal operations, inflammation of the peritoneum, abdominal organs and pelvic cavities in animals”.

February 9, 1959 approved in the academic title of professor of surgery.

From March 1, 1959 to April 1978, Vice-Rector for Education with the assignment of duties as Head of the Department of Operative Surgery.

After being dismissed, the vice-rector continued to hold the position of head of the department of operative surgery.

Scientific works and achievements

Scientific papers Mosin relate to several areas of medicine, but in particular, abdominal surgery . In 1951–1960, he developed the issues of new methods of anesthesiology, pathogenetic therapy, being one of the founders of this area, proposed an original method of conduction anesthesia of the celiac nerves and sympathetic trunks with infiltration of the tissues of the abdominal wall.

Together with Professor Ya. M. Farzaliev established the high therapeutic efficacy of novocainization of the corresponding zone of sympathetic innervation in inflammation of the joints.

Also, together with his wife, Sophia Kutdusovnaya, he developed questions on the immunodiagnosis of Finoza cattle and tenuicle cysticercosis of ruminants using histological and histochemical methods of research. Together with Professor TS Minkin, the operation for the prolapse of the rectum was improved.

Under his leadership, graduate student I. A. Telyatnikov developed an effective bloodless method of castration of males of productive animals, for which both were awarded Honorary Diplomas and thanks.

Also under his leadership, the method of cybernetic assessment of the general condition of animals in normal and pathological conditions and the method of an electronic device system for converting, inputting and testing biological parameters on a computer were established.

V. V. Mosin is the author of 200 publications, including 3 monographs, as well as textbooks. He prepared 8 doctors and 50 candidates of sciences. Among his students are prominent doctors - M. Sh. Shakurov, I. A. Telyatnikov and others.

Winner of the USSR State Prize [3] for 1979 - for the development of new methods of treatment of animals.

Personal life, family

Wife - Sophia Kutdusovna Mosina (1919-2000) - parasitologist , candidate of veterinary sciences ( 1949 ), also studied and worked at the Kazan Veterinary Institute , became an associate professor at the Department of Parasitology in 1948 . In 1949 she defended her thesis on the theme “On the study of the causative agents of the anterior-mesenteric artery aneurysm and related changes in the solar plexus”. Much attention was paid to the topics of interest in the theory of immunity and the methods of diagnosing helminth infections in animals.

Two children.

  • Son - Alexander Vasilievich (born 1946 ), Ph.D., associate professor, currently working at the Kazan State Technical University. A. N. Tupolev [4] .
  • Daughter - Lyailya Vasilyevna (born 1949 ), Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Senior Researcher, Leading Scientific Editor of the Kazan Physicotechnical Institute. E. K. Zavoisky of the Kazan Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences [5] .
  • Grandson - Vasily Alexandrovich (born 1972 ), Russian shooter, bronze medalist of the 2012 Olympic Games, graduated from Kazan State Medical Institute with a degree in Microsurgery in Traumatology and Orthopedics. He worked as a surgeon, but left the work of a doctor in favor of shooting. Police Lieutenant Colonel [6] .
  • Grandmasters - Camilla Vasilievna [1] , Sofia Vasilievna; great-grandson: Ruslan Vasilyevich.
