Content
Play career
Matson began his junior career in the Quebec Midget AAA league, playing for the Lac Saint Louis Lions club, where he played from 2009 to 2011 . [1] Then, Matson joined the Dublin Fighting Sights Club of the USHL , where he became the leader among defenders in scoring points for the 2011–12 season. He later played for Boston College at NASS . [2] [3] On April 30, 2012, Matson decided to stay at Boston College for another season. [4] On May 8, he became the team captain for the 2014/15 season.
At the end of the 2014/15 season, Matson signed a novice contract with the Florida Panthers . In the summer of 2016, he extended the contract for 8 years, starting with the season 2018/19, by $ 39 million.
