Biography
From Nizhny Novgorod, where he worked at the Gorky Automobile Plant.
Despite the fact that he started playing drafts only at the age of 16, he very quickly became one of the strongest drafts players in Nizhny Novgorod. Three-time champion of the Gorky Territory (1933, 1934, 1940), second medalist of 1937 (losing the championship to Sergey Dyachkov) [2] .
After winning the third championship in the newspaper Gorkovskaya Kommuna on May 21, 1934, the following lines appeared:
GAZ representative Nikolay Zhadin, who again confirmed the title of the strongest player in the region, is very young - now he is 21 years old. Starting to play in 1929, already in 1931 he took 1st place in the city tournament and since then in all Gorky tournaments he never got below the first place.
The city tournament is the championship of the Sverdlovsk region of Gorky, held in 1931-1933 as a continuation of the city championships after joining the cities of Sormovo and Kanavino in 1929. In all three championships held, Nikolay Zhadin won.
In 1938, when the title of candidate for master was established as an intermediate stage between the first category and the master of sports, in August Gorky hosted the All-Union First-Category Tournament, where Nikolay Zhadin won and became the first (along with M. Morozov) Nizhny Novgorod candidate for master.
In the Great Patriotic War, Nikolay Zhadin serves in counterintelligence. After the Victory he served in Riga, then in Tallinn, reaching the rank of KGB lieutenant colonel.
N. A. Zhadin is a multiple champion of Estonia (in Russian and international drafts). He played in the 19th championship of the USSR in Russian drafts (Minsk, 1959). The party from this championship N. Zhadin (Tallinn) - D. Gordevich (Minsk) was published by the magazine "Checkers" (No. 2-1959).
In 1985 he was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War II degree [1] .
Retired, he worked in the newspaper "Youth of Estonia" [3] .
