Geography
It is located 27 kilometers north-west of the town of Rzhev , on the Rzhev-Sukhu highway (part of the former Toropetsky tract). To the west of the village, the village of Ilchenko , which until 1969 was called Noviy Pohorelki.
History
In the second half of the XIX - early XX century, the village of Pogorelki belonged to the Zhukovskaya volost of the Rzhev district of the Tver province . According to the data of [2] of 1912 there are 23 courtyards in the village, 163 inhabitants.
In 1940, Pogorelki as part of the Lyschevsky Village Council of Molodotudsky District, Kalinin Oblast . During the Great Patriotic War , military operations were conducted throughout the village in 1942. In the center of the village is the mass grave of the soldiers of the Red Army.
After the war, the village was built near the village of New Pogorelki (now Ilchenko ), the center of the state farm "Tudovsky".
In 1997 Pogorelki as a part of Ilchenkovsky rural district, 32 farms, 65 inhabitants. According to the 2002 census, the population was 71 people, 33 men, 38 women.
The villages of Glyadovo, Nasonovo, Vaneevo, Lyschevo, Chernovo, Glyadovo, Frolovo disappeared around Pogorelok.

War grave
Mass grave is located in the center of the village. Date of creation of the burial - 1954. According to the administration of the Rzhevsky district for 2014, in a mass grave in the village of Pogorelki, 8332 are buried, of which the names were established in 7501 [3] [4] .
