Early life and career
Helen Elizabeth Lawson was born in Arlington , in Massachusetts [3] . Started her career in the theater . In 1916 she signed a contract with the film company Fox Film Corporation .
In the same year, William Fox called her “the second Mary Pickford ” [4] . Then he suggested that it will become popular within six months.
July 9 of the same year, the actress made her debut in the theater " Musical Academy ", located on 14 street , staged "Caprice Mountains". A critic from the newspaper The New York Times described it as follows: “She is young, beautiful, graceful, mini-art, and has eloquent gestures. She is prescribed a bright future in the cinema. "
Taking the stage name Caprice, she starred in sixteen films produced by Fox. Most of these films were produced and directed by Harry F. Millard . Later, they began a personal relationship with each other and got married.
In 1919, June Caprice signed a contract with the film company Pathé , for which she starred in six films. Some of them were mounted in an old studio located in New York . The last work in the cinema was the participation in the sci-fi film series of 1921 " Sky Ranger " (also known as the Man Who Stole the Moon ").
After leaving the cinema
She left the film business to spend more time with her family. In 1922, daughter was born June Elizabeth Millard . Later in the 1920s, she apparently returned to the theater and worked as a fashion model; in particular, it was photographed to advertise the Coca-Cola company, which printed its image on calendars and on its glasses.
In 1931, June's husband died at the age of 46. Five years later, Caprice herself died from a heart attack in Los Angeles [5] . She also had cancer. She was buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale , California .
At the time of the death of her mother, her daughter was 13 years old, and she was then raised by her grandparents in Long Island , in the state of New York . Later June Millard became known as Tony Seven and became a model .
June 17, 1949 Time magazine reported that she became the heir to the state at the cost of $ 3,000,000.
