Trigonopterus mimicus (Latin) is a species of weevils of the genus Trigonopterus from the subfamily Cryptorhynchinae ( Curculionidae ). They are found in the vicinity of the island of New Guinea , West New Guinea , Jayawijaya Reg., Jiwika, Ilugwa, Poga, L. Habbema, Tiom: 2290–2800 m [1] .

Description
Small flightless weevil beetles , length from 2.65 to 3.06 mm; mostly black (head and pronotum) and orange-brown (elytra); antennae and legs brown; legs partially covered with whitish scales. Body subharmonous, with constriction between pronotum and elytra. Antennae apical thickened, club-shaped. Pronotum and elytra finely punctate, smooth and shiny. Wings are missing. Rostrum shortened, at rest does not reach the middle of the middle coxae. Elytra with 9 grooves. Claws of paws are small. In earlier works, it was referred to as “Trigonopterus sp. 213 " [1] .
The species was found in the primary rainforest. First described in 2013 by the German coleopterologist Alexander Riedel ( Alexander Riedel ; Museum of Natural History Karlsruhe, Karlsruhe , Germany ), together with entomologists Katayo Sagata; Papay New Guinea Institute for Biological research (PNG-IBR), Goroka, Papua New Guinea ), Suriani Surbakti ( Suriani Surbakti ; Jurusan Biology, FMIPA-Universitas Cendrawasih, Kampus Baru, Jayapura , Papua , Indonesia ), René Tänzler ( Rene Tänzler ; Zoological State Collection , Munich ) and Michael Balckier, Michael, Michael, and Michael, who did not like the rest of the house, and the rest of the day, too , in the Zoological State Collection , Munich and Michael Balke ; Maximilians-University , Munich, Germany ), which carried out an audit of the fauna of beetles of the genus Trigonopterus on the island of New Guinea [1] .
