Career
At the beginning of his career, Wills played at Cambridge. In particular, around 1961, he played in The Vikings, and then in various other local bands: The Sundowners, Soul Committee, Bullet (with David Gilmore on guitar and William Wilson on drums) and Cochise. Later joined Frampton's Camel [2] .
In 1966, he joined the Jokers Wild (where David Gilmore was the guitarist and vocalist), where he replaced Tony Sainty and played with them until their collapse in 1968 [3] . He participated in the recording of the first three solo albums of Peter Frampoton and collaborated with him until 1975. In 1976, he became the bass player of Roxy Music , but he soon left her and in 1977 joined the reunited Small Faces . After leaving Small Faces in 1978, Rick was involved in the recording of David Gilmore 's self-titled debut solo album with William Wilson on drums. The following year, Willis became a member of the Foreigner group [4] and stayed in it for fourteen years.
After leaving Foreigner in 1992 [5], Rick joined the Bad Company and played with her until Bose Burrel returned to her in 1998 [4] . In July 1999, he replaced Lynyrd Skynyrd with their former bass player Leon Wilkeson when he got sick. On April 24, 2001, he appeared at a concert in the memory of Steve Marriott, as part of a band that also included Bobby Tencha , Zack Starkey and Rabbit Bandrika [6] [7] .
In 2006, Wills joined The Small Faces drummer group Kenny Jones The Jones Gang [8] . June 15, 2008, performed as part of the Teenage Cancer Trust group at the concert at The London International Music Show [9] .
On January 12, 2015 in Sarsot, Florida, Rick Willis, along with original drummer Dennis Elliott, joined Foreigner during their concert to perform the song "Hot Blooded" [10] .
