DescriptionThe color of the upper side of the body is yellowish brown. Weight 4.5–9 kg. These are mostly solitary nocturnal animals.
DistributionThe species is widespread in northern Australia [1] . They are found in woodlands with meadows and shrubs, as well as on coastal plains with scattered thickets of Melaleuca .
Threats and securityIt is not known what could threaten this species. Perhaps fires and cattle breeding affect the species. The flat-clawed kangaroo disappeared in the southern part of its range due to the predation of foxes . If the fox moves further north, the species may be at risk. It is found in some protected areas, although most of the range is located outside protected areas.
