Getting
- Passing ammonia through a solution in petroleum ether sulfuryl chloride and thionyl chloride :
- the compound is purified by sublimation in vacuo at 60-80 ° C.
Physical Properties
Α-sulfanurum chloride forms colorless crystals of rhombic syngony , space group P nma , cell parameters a = 0.7552 nm , b = 1.154 nm , c = 1.0078 nm , Z = 4 [1] .
It does not dissolve in water, is slowly hydrolyzed . It is soluble in organic solvents.
