Pigs in a blanket - American version
Sausage in the dough is a German invention. In Germany, this dish is known as Würstchen im Schlafrock - "sausage in a nightgown" [1] [2] .
Later, this recipe was distributed in the UK and the USA under the name Pigs in a blanket - “piglet in a blanket”.
