Victor Petrovich Kotegov (born May 13, 1955 , Molotov ) is a Russian pharmacologist , chemist , doctor of medical sciences (1997), professor (2001). Specialist in the experimental pharmacology of diabetes mellitus , inflammation , microelements, diseases of the central nervous system . Developer of drugs "Guacarben" and "Piron".

Biography
Born in Perm . In 1979 he graduated from the medical faculty of the Perm Medical Institute .
In 1982 - 1990 - assistant, in 1990 - 1997 - senior lecturer, in 1997 - 2009 - professor, head of the department of pharmacology of the Perm Medical Institute [1] . Doctor of Medical Sciences ( 1997 ), Professor ( 2001 ).
In 2009 - 2012 - Professor, Head of the Department of Pharmacology, Perm Pharmaceutical Academy [2] .
In 2012 - 2014 - chief research fellow at the Department of Chemistry and Biotechnology of Perm University , since 2013 - professor, deputy. Head Department of Natural and Biologically Active Compounds [3] , chief researcher at the Laboratory of Experimental Pharmacology.
Since 2017 - Professor, Head of the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy, Perm University, Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy // PSNIU .
Scientific work
He defended his thesis on the “Relationship between the structure and antidiabetic activity of guanidine derivatives” in 1983 at the Kazan Medical Institute. S.V. Kurashova . In 1997, at the Bashkir Medical University, he defended his doctoral dissertation "Antidiabetic activity of derivatives of aromatic sulfonates and carboxylic acids."
Since 1979, it has been organizing and performing preclinical trials of original and reproducible drugs, conducting studies of the general toxicity and specific activity of 130 drugs. One of the authors of the domestic antidiabetic drug glidifen (guacarbene) [4] , which, by order of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation No. 91 dated 03/31/1997, received permission for medical use.
In 2008 - 2012 , together with the Irkutsk Institute of Organic Chemistry named after Favorsky performed research under a grant from the Russian Academy of Sciences FNM-42 “New lipid-lowering, antihypoxic and anti-inflammatory drugs with improved characteristics based on polysaccharides”, section “Studying the gastrotoxicity of forms of piroxicam immobilized on polysaccharides in comparison with the substance of piroxicam”.
In 2011 - 2013 , he was the scientific director of the Cooperation Program of the Lausanne Polytechnic School (EPFL) , Perm Pharmaceutical Academy and Perm Polytechnic University in the field of diabetes and metabolic diseases research with the support of the Neva Charitable Foundation.
In 2013 - 2014 , he was the head of the RFBR grant “Electrochemical sensors based on selectively permeable sol-gel films for the analysis of biological markers”.
Since 2015, as the scientific director of pharmacological research, he has been carrying out scientific research under the state contract of August 28, 2015 No. 14.N08.12.1040 in the framework of the federal target program "Development of the pharmaceutical and medical industry of the Russian Federation for the period until 2020 and the future" " Preclinical studies of a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug based on (Z) -3- (2-oxo-2- (4-tolyl) ethylidene) piperazin-2-one for the treatment of osteoarthritis. " The working name of the drug is pyrone [5] .
Author of 290 scientific publications, 17 patents for invention. Supervises graduate students. Prepared 7 candidates of sciences.
Research interests include the experimental pharmacology of diabetes mellitus , inflammation , microelementoses, and diseases of the central nervous system . He is involved in modeling diabetes , dementia, behavioral and motor disorders, zinc-deficient conditions, and inflammation .
Member of the All-Russian Scientific Society of Pharmacologists.
