The Canadian team became the world champion (for the 27th time in its history), defeating the Norwegian national team with a score of 10: 5 in the final. The third place was taken by the Scottish team , who won the match for the 3rd place by the US national team with a score of 6: 5 [1] .
At the same time as the men 's championship in Bismarck, the women's world championship in 2002 was also held .
Content
Competition Format
First, all teams participate in the group stage, in which each team will play once with each. The four best teams go to the playoff semi -finals , the winners of which will play in the final, and the losers in the match for third place.
Member Teams
The tournament was attended by the US national team (as the national team of the host country), the Swedish national team (as the current champion ), six European men's teams, which took 1st-7th places at the 2001 European Championship (except the Swedish national team), the Canadian national team (together with the USA representing North America ; Canada was represented by the winning team of the men's championship of Canada 2002 , skip Randy Ferby ), as well as the Japanese team (qualified according to the results of the Pacific Championship 2001 ).
