José Manuel dos Santos Rodrigues ( port. José Manuel dos Santos Rodrigues ; born May 4, 1951, Lisbon ) is a Portuguese and Dutch photographer and artist. From 1993 to the present, he lives in the Portuguese city of Evora ; before that, he lived and worked in the Netherlands for more than twenty years [1] [2] .

Biography
Jose Manuel Rodriguez was born on May 4, 1951 in Lisbon. His youth fell on the turbulent years of the reign of António Salazar . Not wanting to participate in the war for the containment of Angola and Mozambique , which were then the colonies of Portugal, Rodriguez fled the country in 1968 [3] [4] . Until 1969 he lived in Paris , and from 1969 to 1993 - in the Netherlands, where he studied photography: in The Hague (from 1975 to 1980) and in Apeldoorn (from 1975 to 1979) at De School voor Fotografie . Rodriguez also studied video filming at the Santbergen Institute in Hilversum in 1989.
