Ekaterina Ignatievna Tverdokhleb ( Ukrainian: Tverdokhlіb Katerina Gnativna ; December 7, 1906 , Snezhkov - December 22, 2007 , Snezhkov) - a collective farmer, the Bolshevik link-up collective farm of the Valkovsky district of the Kharkov region , Ukrainian SSR . Hero of Socialist Labor (1965). Member of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR 4 and 6 convocations.

Biography

Born December 7, 1906 in a peasant family in the village of Snezhkov, Kharkov province. After graduating from the three grades of primary school in her native village, she studied for another year at the Vysokopolsky four-year school. In the 1920s, she graduated from teacher training courses and worked as a teacher for some time. Since 1929, she worked as a beet-growing link at a livestock farm on the Bolshevik collective farm. She worked at this enterprise for 65 years before retiring.

In 1965 she was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor. She was elected as a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of 4 and 6 convocations and a delegate of the III Congress of collective farmers.

In 1981, she published the book “Everyday Life of Snezhkova Village” [1] .

After retirement, she lived in her native village, where she died on December 22, 2007 at the age of 101.

Memory

  • In 1973, the documentary "Catherine Tverdokhleb" was released, shot by the Kharkov television studio and the Dovzhenko studio.
  • Ukrainian writer Nikolai Shapoval wrote the documentary short story “Catherine Tverdokhleb”.

Rewards
