Universal address system

The universal address system ( Eng. Natural Area Code , abbreviated NAC , in the Russian transliteration of NAC ) is a patented geocoding system for determining the area or volume anywhere in the world . Using thirty alphanumeric sequences, and not just ten digits, makes the UAS code shorter than its counterpart in the latitude and longitude system .

Two-dimensional systems

Instead of the numerical value of longitude and latitude, the UAS uses a grid of 30 rows and 30 columns, each cell of which is indicated by the numbers 0-9 and twenty consonants of the Latin alphabet . Thus, more detailed addressing is laid. In UAS, a cell (or block) can be repeatedly divided into smaller UAS grids in order to obtain an arbitrarily small area, taking into account the ± 1 m limit according to the World Geodetic System ( World Geodetic System ) 1984 .

The NAC code (hereinafter referred to as the "Code") describes the location of the site on the ground - the longer the Code, the smaller the area of the site. The ten-character Code can unambiguously indicate any building, house or fixed object. The eight-character Code indicates an area of no more than 25 meters by 50 meters, while the ten-character Code indicates an area of no more than 0.8 meters by 1.6 meters.

Using a thirty-decimal number system, UAS uses an alternative method that eliminates vowels and avoids possible confusion between “0” (zero) and “O” (capital “o”), and “1” (one) and “I” (capital letter "I"):

Tricate0one23fourfive67eight9BCDFG

TricateHJKLMNPQRSTVWXZ

For example, the ten-character Brussels-Capital Region center code is HBV6R RG77T.

Extension to three dimensions

A complete UAS provides a third coordinate - height. This coordinate is the arctangent of height relative to the radius of the Earth. It is believed that the zero point (000 ...) is located in the center of the Earth, the middle (H00 ...) is at a distance of the local radius of the planet, that is, on the Earth’s surface, and the end point (ZZZ ...) is at infinity.

For example, the three-dimensional code of the center of the Brussels metropolitan region, at ground level - HBV6R RG77T H0000.
