The rig is a structure that is part of the rig , part of the drilling equipment .

Is used for:

1. Conducting tripping (SPO).
2. Maintaining the drill string on the pulley system while drilling with unloading.
3. Placement of a set of drill pipes and weighted drill pipes (UBT), extracted from the well.
4. Placing talevy system.
5. Placement of means of mechanization of STR, in particular the mechanisms of TSA (may not be installed), the platform of the upper worker, the device for emergency evacuation of the upper worker, auxiliary equipment.
6. Placement of the top drive system (may not be installed).

Drilling rigs are divided into tower and mast.
