February 22, 2017 Fox extended the series for the second season, which premiered on September 27, 2017 [2] [3] [4] . On May 10, 2018, the series was extended for the third season [5] , which premiered on September 26, 2018 [6] .
On May 11, 2019, the FOX channel closed the television series after three seasons [7] .
Content
Story
The plot focuses on the music business of Atlanta , in which three young singers (performed by Ryan Destiny, Jude Demorest and Brittany O'Grady) are trying to succeed. Queen Latifa plays the leading role as a mentor for singers and part-time owner of a beauty salon.

Production
Fox ordered the shooting of the pilot in August 2015, in the wake of the success of the soap opera " Empire " [8] . In December, it was announced that Queen Latifa would play a leading role in the project, while unknown Ryan Destini, Jude Demorest, and Brittany O'Grady were selected as young singers. [9] A few days later, Nicholas Gonzalez and Benjamin Bratt joined the pilot [10] [11] . On April 27, 2016, the channel approved the pilot and gave the green light to the production of the first season of thirteen episodes [12] . It was also announced that Lenny Kravitz will have a recurring role in the series [12] .
