Bendovan [1] ( azerb. Bəndovan burnu ) is a cape in the southeastern part of Azerbaijan . Administratively refers to the Karadag region of Baku . On the territory of the cape is the Byandovan wildlife sanctuary .

Physico-geographical characteristics
It is the easternmost part of the Shirvan plain. On the cape is the geyser volcano of the same name, which influenced the formation of the terrain.
The highest point is 47.2 meters above sea level [2] , which offers a beautiful panorama of the Caspian Sea.
In the northern part of the cape passes the Upper Shervinsky Canal.
Bandovan City
As early as 1840, the amateur amateur historian Abbas-Kuli-aga Bakikhanov mentioned the remains of an underwater city in the territory of Bendovan. In the 1970s , the remains of an ancient city dating from the 9th-13th centuries were found on the banks of the Bendovan cape.
