Zags ( Georgian ზაჰესი , Zagsi) is an urban-type settlement (dub) in the administrative subordination of the region of the city of Tbilisi , Georgia . The village is located on the northern outskirts of the municipality (region) of Tbilisi, on the banks of the Kura River .

Status of an urban-type settlement since 1967. Until 2008, it was part of the Mtskheta municipality of the region of Mtskheta-Mtianeti . In 2008, it was included in the Tbilisi region. [2] [1] . Current statistics take into account the urban settlement in the city of Tbilisi [3] .
The village was created at the Zemo-Avchal hydroelectric station or ZAGES .
