Sterile triploid (3 n = 27). It was assumed that scaly likoris arose when Lycoris straminea and Lycoris incarnata were crossed. DNA analysis showed that, in reality, two other species of the genus, Lycoris sprengeri and Lycoris chinensis, are the ancestors of scaly licoris [2] .
Bulb globose, about 5 cm in diameter, releases leaves in spring, growing before the beginning of summer, then dying off. After a month, a leafless flowering arrow forms 60-70 cm tall, with six to eight fragrant pink-lilac flowers. Perianth segments bent, in a tube with truncated scales [3] [4] .
