Tinghu District ( Chinese Ex . 亭 湖区 , Pinyin : Tínghú qū ) is a district subordinate to the city of Yancheng , Jiangsu Province ( PRC ).

History
In the days of the Han Empire, Yandu County was established (盐 渎 县). During the Eastern Jin Empire in 411, it was renamed Yancheng (盐城 县).
In 1949, the Yancheng Special District (盐城 专区) was formed, and the county became part of it.
In 1970, the Yancheng Special District was renamed Yancheng County (盐城).
In 1983, Yancheng County was transformed into Yancheng City District; at the same time, Yancheng County was disbanded, and the Urban District and the Prigorodny District were formed on its former territory.
In 2003, the City District was renamed Tinhu District.
