Baitenov, Noyan Akhmediyarovich

Noyan Akhmediyarovich Baitenov ( November 25, 1934 , Almaty - December 17, 1993 , Almaty ) - Soviet Kazakhstani scientist. Doctor of Technical Sciences (1984), Professor (1986). Laureate of the USSR State Prize in the field of science and technology (1988).

Biography

He graduated from the Mining and Metallurgical Institute (1957). In 1957-1959 he was an engineer at the Chirchik hard alloys plant ( Uzbekistan ), in 1959-1961 he was a graduate student at the Metallurgical and Mining and Processing Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR , in 1969-1993 he was the head of the laboratory of the Institute of Metallurgy and Enrichment of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR.

Scientific research is associated with the production of titanium dioxide and raw materials containing titanium , improving the condensation of titanium tetrachloride and purifying it from impurities, and obtaining strontium salts from celestine concentrate. According to KNE , Baitenov was one of the creators of the new technology for the integrated use of raw materials, and was also one of those who laid the foundations for research in the field of chlorine metallurgy in Kazakhstan.

Rewards and memory

Winner of the USSR State Prize in Science and Technology (1988) - “for the development and implementation of resource-saving technological processes in the production of titanium and magnesium”.

In memory of him, a street was named in Alatau district of Almaty (until 2005 - 3rd street, 1100 m) [1] .
