Biography
In parallel with his studies at the gymnasium in 1971-1975, he took private piano lessons from Maria Masarikova, as well as composition lessons from Yuri Gatrik. In 1975-1980 he studied in the specialty “Composition” at the Bratislava Higher School of Performing Arts (course of Jan Zikker). After graduation, he worked as a sound engineer at Opus Publishing House for six years and as a sound engineer on Slovak Radio for seven years. In 1986, Martin Burlas founded the musical band Mathews, later - the band Maťkovia. He was a member of the music groups Veni Ensemble, Sleepy Motion, Vitebsk Broken (along with Peter Makhaydik ), Bezmocná hŕstka (Silent Hand); together with Lubomir Burgr, Zuzana Piussi and Daniel Salontai founded the group Dogma. In 2000, together with Lubomir Burgr, Inga Grubanichova, Mariusz Kopcai and Monika Certzni, he founded the Association for Modern Opera.
Together with Daniel Matei and Jan Boleslav, Cladivo is a member of the trio of contemporary music OVER4tea.
