Roundworm can cause damage to the small intestinal wall, intestinal obstruction, perforated peritonitis , bronchitis , focal pneumonia, hemoptysis, liver and pancreas diseases. Ascarids move freely along the gastrointestinal tract, so they can crawl into the organs of the respiratory system, thereby causing asphyxiation. There is a possibility of worms penetrating the frontal sinuses, urinary organs, the lacrimal-nasal canal, the Eustachian tube , the middle ear , the external auditory canal, perinephric tissue, and the vermiform process. You can become infected by eating unwashed vegetables or fruits.

Secretions of the parasite can cause an allergic reaction, which can manifest as bronchial asthma and skin rashes . The constant presence of parasites in the intestine leads to inflammation of the intestinal wall.
