Geographical position

The village of Chandyri of the municipality of the “ Tavdinsky urban district ” of the Sverdlovsk region is located 8 kilometers (along the highway 15 kilometers) north-northeast of the city of Tavda , on the left bank of the Tavda river, 2 kilometers below the village of Lenino [2] .

Chandyri is shown on the map of S.U. Remezov in 1701, on a tributary of the Tavda River (presumably the Karabashka River).

Big Chandyri on Tavda are displayed on the atlas of 1794 [3] .

Etymology

The toponym “chandir” in translation from Tatar means “skinny, thin” [2] . Iranian etymology is also possible (cf. Tandoor ).

Climate

The climate is continental with cold winters and warm summers.
