Spasticity

Spasticity , spasticity (from other Greek. Σπασμός , from σπάω - stretch) is a feature of the behavior of skeletal muscle tissue in combination with paralysis , increased activity of the tendon reflex and muscle hypertonicity .

Spasticity occurs due to the lack of inhibition of motor neurons , which causes increased muscle contractions . With spasticity, baclofen is often indicated, acting as an agonist of GABA-B receptors that inhibit motor neurons.

Spastic cerebral palsy is the most common form of cerebral palsy (cerebral palsy), which represents a group of chronic non-progressive symptom complexes of motor disorders.
