Priest Popov Palladiy Ivanovich (1879-1937), ordained in 1913, rector of the Church of the Presentation of the Lord in the village of Gam. He was numbered among the saints and was included in the Council of the New Martyrs and Confessors of the 20th Century by the Definition of the Holy Synod of October 6, 2001 [1] [2] .

Biography
Born on January 27, 1879 in the village of Ustye, Nikolsky Uyezd, Vologda Province .

The wife was a native of the ancient village of Lasta, Izhemsky district of the Komi Republic. Her name was Lidia Stepanovna. There were no children. After the execution of her husband, she stayed to live in the village of Gam , continued to live in one of the rooms of the priest’s house, where Ivan Vasilievich, a previously dispossessed resident of the village, was allowed to live with his family. Education
In 1902 he graduated from the Arkhangelsk Theological Seminary in the second category.
In 1903-1905 he studied at the Veterinary Institute of Kazan .
Ministry
In 1906-1913 - a teacher of a second-class school in the village of Sizyabsk . [7]
Since 1913 - a law teacher and head of the Gama Church and Parish School.
Since 1914 - the teacher of law at the Mokhchinsky two-class parish school.
From 1917 to 1918 he was a law teacher and teacher of the Mohchen pedagogical courses, a teacher of the Gama rural school.
After 1918 he lived in the village of Gam, was a priest of the Gamsk Sretensky Church. [eight]
Ordination
In 1913, Bishop Nathanael of Arkhangelsk and Kholmogorsky was ordained a priest of the Gamsk Sretensky Church .
Arrests and conviction
In 1933 he was prosecuted under article 59.12 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR, but was not convicted. Arrested in the village of Gam on July 31, 1937. Under investigation, he was detained in the Izhem prison. Accused of the fact that
"After the publication of the new constitution, he systematically conducted anti-Soviet agitation among the collective farmers against the Soviet power, misinterpreted the new constitution among collective farmers and individual peers, waiting for the war and the fall of Soviet power" [9] [10] .
Sentenced on September 21, 1937 by the Troika at the UNKVD of the Komi Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic under Article 58.10 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to capital punishment.
Leaving life
Shot in c. Izhma in the period from September 22 to 25, 1937.
The burial site is not exactly established. [9] [10]

09/23/2017, 80 years after the execution of the clergy Palladiy Popov and John Pavlovsky at the place of their death in the village. Izhma a cross was erected [11]
Canonization
The Holy Synod By the Decision of October 6, 2001, Priest Palladiy Popov was ranked among the saints and included the New Martyrs and Confessors of the 20th Century in the Cathedral [4]
