Mike Rossner is an American open access activist and advocate for academic journal publishing. He was director of Rockefeller University Press from December 2006 to May 2013.

Biography
Rossner was educated at the University of Edinburgh . In 1997, Rossner became editor of the Journal of Cell Biology. December 1, 2006, he became director of The Rockefeller University Press , temporarily continued to act as editor of the Journal of Cell Biology, until he found a replacement [1] .
In May 2008, Rockefeller University Press adopted a new copyright policy. In accordance with it, the authors grant the publication a license to publish their articles, but retain their copyrights and can do whatever they want with the work. Use by third parties is subject to a user license that is similar to a Creative Commons license , except that it is prohibited to create a complete “mirror site” within the first six months after publication.
From 2013 to 2015, Rossner worked at Glencoe Software , and is currently President of Image Data Integrity Inc. Rossner is one of the organizers of Access2Research [2] .
In July 2009, the Coalition of Academic Resources and Scientific Publications awarded him the Innovator Prize [3] .
He is a supporter of open access policies [4] . He supports public access to US National Institutes of Health . He sharply opposed overpricing by major publications, which recently adhere to the practice of grouping subscriptions.
