Biography
Maria Vassarionovna Karandeeva is the daughter of Vissarion Vissarionovich Karandeyev (1878-1916), a colleague and friend of V. I. Vernadsky [1] .
In 1933 she graduated from the Soil and Geography Faculty of Moscow State University.
After graduating from the same graduate school in 1938, she defended her thesis on the topic: "On the development of the Upper Volga Valley . " From the same year until the end of her life, she worked at Moscow State University.
Since 1942 - Associate Professor.
In 1942-1948 - deputy. Dean of the Faculty of Geography of Moscow State University, and during the evacuation of 1942-1943 (Ashgabat, Sverdlovsk) acted as dean.
Since 1948, participated in complex geographical studies of the Caspian lowland.
Since 1957 - Doctor of Geographical Sciences; Thesis: "Geomorphology of the European part of the USSR . "
Since 1959 - Professor at the Department of Geomorphology, Faculty of Geography, Moscow State University.
She gave lectures on general and regional geomorphology, on geomorphology of the European part of the USSR.
