Petr Semenovich Mahota ( Ukrainian: Petro Semenovich Mahota ; December 15, 1920 , the village of Privolnoye - May 21, 1997 , Dnepropetrovsk , Ukraine ) - production leader, steelmaker of the open-hearth shop of the Petrovsky Dnepropetrovsk Metallurgical Plant , Ukrainian SSR . Hero of Socialist Labor (1958). Member of the Supreme Council of the Ukrainian SSR of the 5th and 6th convocations (1959-1967). Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine (1959-1966).

Biography

Born December 15, 1920 in a peasant family in the village of Privolnoye (today - Solonyansky district of the Dnipropetrovsk region ). Since 1937, he began his career on the collective farm “New Life” of the Solonyansky district. In 1940 he was called up for military service in the Red Army. He participated in the Great Patriotic War as part of the 135 rifle regiment of the NKVD troops.

After demobilization, he got a job in 1946 as a steelworker apprentice in the open-hearth workshop of the Petrovsky Dnepropetrovsk Metallurgical Plant. Then he worked as a steelworker. He was the initiator of the movement of steelmaking in excess of the plan of 500 tons under the name "Superplanned initiative - for agricultural needs." Set a record by smelting in a 300-ton furnace in five hours. In 1956 he was elected a delegate to the XX Congress of the CPSU .

In 1958 he was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor "for special merits in the development of ferrous metallurgy . "

From 1973-1997 - assistant foreman of the open-hearth workshop.
